Eidolon is more than just his genetics, he’s got vision…and heart. This actually wasn’t my first read in the series, I came back to it after starting with book 2 (Shade’s story), book 3 (Wraith’s story), book 4 (Lore’s story) and bought it at the same time I bought book 5 (Sin’s story). In my own dyslexic little way I stumble onto a lot of good series this way and I’ve found that more than a few authors don’t hit their stride with the first book. However, not the case for Larissa Ione. This author has a way with her characters. Her alpha males have depth, strength despite their vulnerabilities, something on par with Ward’s Black Dagger Brothers or Cole’s Immortals After Dark. Her leading ladies aren’t just a place for that alpha male to dip his wick, they claim just as much presence on the page as the hero. Vulnerable but tough in spite, or because of it. I need characters that I can relate to, characters that seem real. Ione delivers in spades, I’m keeping the entire series. Thank you for this series, Larissa Ione.
